Canister cooker safety advisory for consumers

Energy Safety advises owners and users of canister, or "lunchbox", cookers to be careful when using the cookers. Regulators in Australia have identified safety compliance issues in some products supplied in Australia. Energy Safety is part of WorkSafe New Zealand and is responsible for monitoring, encouraging and enforcing the safe supply and use of gas and electricity.

Safety with LPG Refrigerators

The Warehouse and Aber Holdings Ltd, have issued a product recall of two heaters - the KENT 5-fin oil column heater and the KENT 9-fin oil column heater with timer.

Inverters safety alert

Energy Safety has prohibited certain devices called inverters that convert electricity from alternative power sources to be used in homes because they could cause an electric shock or a fire.

Energy Safety has prohibited a dangerous energy saving device called Go 4 Green EnergySmart SD-001. Purchasers are advised not to use the product and to return it to the supplier for a refund.
