Gas and other regulations referred to on this page can be browsed on the New Zealand Legislation website.

The suite of regulations published under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Act 1996 provide detailed controls under the HSNO Act. These include regulations related to delineation of hazardous areas and to the storage and location of hazardous substances, including LPG cylinders, and emergency management.

Gas (Safety and Measurement) Regulations 2010 [ Published 12 April 2010 ]
The new regulations came into force on 4 May 2010. However one regulation, exempting certain types of gasfitting from certification, came into force on 1 April to coincide with the new definition of gasfitting under the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlaye
