Short Description An Act to restate and reform the law relating to the management of hazardous substances and new organisms

The Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 applies to gas, including LPG. The Gas Act and Gas Regulations contain provisions that are controls under the HSNO Act. Please refer to the HSNO Act and regulations made under the HSNO Act for details of the provisions related to delineation of hazardous areas and to the storage and location of hazardous substances, including emergency management.
