In the event of an emergency you should contact the Emergency Services by dialling 111. The operator will ask you whether you need Fire, Police or Ambulance.
If you discover broken power lines, or a leak from a gas main, you should refer to the "Emergency Services" section of the White Pages. This is the red section at the front of the phone book (usually on page 4). Here you will find the telephone numbers of the local electricity or gas supplier.
Energy Safety is not an emergency service and does not have first response capabilities. Energy Safety has a role in investigating serious gas and electrical accidents but this usually takes place after the emergency services have dealt with any fire or injury. Report a serious gas or electrical accident to the Energy Safety team.
