Advice regarding specific makes of appliance Energy Safety.
Energy Safety has the following advice if you have one of these heaters:

Fully enclosed Living Flame direct vent gas fire

Fully enclosed direct vent 800 gas fires. You should contact the manufacturer if you have one of these fires and it has not been serviced, or retrofitted, by the manufacturer since December 2006. If you observe any of the warning signs above you should not use the heater until it is serviced
MG3000 and related models including Kent Estate.
Masport MG3000
The manufacturer, Glen Dimplex Australasia, advises that consumers have their heaters maintained on an annual basis. If any changes in operation of the appliance occur (see the warning signs above) it should not be used until serviced by a licensed gasfitter straight away.

Because this appliance no longer has manufacturer support, you should consider replacing the heater if any of the warning signs listed above are observed, and not use the heater in the meantime.
