Online forms for detailing notified events


Accidents

To report a notifiable electrical or gas accident, you should contact Energy Safety immediately by completing an Event Notification Form. If Internet access is not available you may notify Energy Safety through its pager service 0800 10 44 77.

A notifiable electrical or gas accident is one involving gas or electricity that results in serious injury or death and/or significant damage to property. A notifiable gas accident may cause fire and/or an explosion and/or gas poisoning. A notifiable electrical accident may be an electric shock. Notifiable electrical and gas accidents are defined in section 16 of the Electricity Act 1992 and section 17 of the Gas Act 1992.

You may be required to provide additional details as per the Gas Regulations 1993 or Electricity Regulations 1997. The information required by the regulations is detailed in the appropriate forms below. This can be done online or by printing it out, filling it in, and posting or faxing it to us. Please note Energy Safety is not an emergency service and does not have first response capabilities.

Product or Service Complaint

Problems with energy products or services should first be resolved the with retailer or service provider using the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act. The Citizens Advice Bureau can provide further advice (0800 367 222). But if you believe there is a direct safety issue with an electrical or gas product (especially if it is a generic problem) then you should also advise Energy Safety. This may be done by filling out the forms below either online or by printing it out, filling it in, and posting or faxing it to us.

Installation Faults

If you are an energy worker wishing to report an immediately dangerous installation, you must notify the owner or occupier of the immediately dangerous property either directly or by filling out the form below, printing it out and presenting it to the owner/occupier. To notify Energy Safety using this form, a copy may be submitted online to Energy Safety or by printing it out and posting or faxing it to us.

This is the form you should use for providing additional details to Energy Safety for a notifiable gas accident involving an appliance or installation.

Use this form to provide additional details to Energy Safety for a gas incident or accident involving the supply network.

Electrical Accident Supplementary Details Form
Use this form to provide additional details to Energy Safety for an electrical accident.

Product Appliance Complaint Form
Use this form to report a safety, supply quality or measurement problem with your energy product or appliance.

Gas/Electricity Installation Fault Notice
Use this form for reporting an installation fault to the owner/occupier and Energy Safety.
